And just like that another year zoomed on by, I wasn’t able make it to some of my favorite places to claim my 2018 vegan birthday freebies. Not that I didn’t want to, I really did but for days around my b-day, I had an upset tummy in no mood for eating out. Here’s the few that I somehow managed to snag:
New to the birthday list, The Habit Burger Grill and their Veggie Burger, a veggie patty on a toasted seeded bun with no dressing. Comes with green leaf lettuce, tomatoes and cucumbers, I added onions and avocado. The added avocado is extra but worth it to make up for the lack of a dressing. Really liked this veggie burger, it’s a nice substantial size burger, not skimpy at all.
Also got a side of crispy tempura green beans, they’re just as good as the ones at Veggie Grill, maybe a tad better. Sign up for The CharClub to enjoy a free Charburger on your birthday, you have a month to redeem.

Starbucks changed their birthday reward so it’s only good on your actual birthday. And they no longer have the Lentils and Vegetable Protein Bowl with Brown Rice, I haven’t seen it at any location for awhile now. Pictured above is the vegan Macadamia Oat Cookie, great when it was available but now that’s gone too. So bummed they got rid of these vegan food options, looks like I’m back to getting bagels there.

I’m confused. On the website, the Charburger from Habit Burger says:
CHARBURGER
Crisp lettuce, fresh tomato, caramelized onions, pickles, and mayo on a toasted bun
And above, it says it’s 100% ground beef.
It is confusing, but the veggie burger is listed on the sandwiches page.

First time around I was puzzled about the charburger too, especially since the veggie burger is listed under sandwiches. Anyways, while it’s a free birthday charburger, the value may be applied to any menu item. :-)
