Oh, Easter Bunny, can you bring me a bucketload of Unreal Candy, pretty please? After getting a few bags for Christmas, I’ve been happily eating my way through them. My favorite is the Unreal dark chocolate peanut gems, they’re like a vegan version of peanut m&m’s but better, colored by veggies like cabbage, beets and carrots. Rest of the family gave it a taste and liked them too. Unreal, indeed.
There’s also milk chocolate gems, but it’s the only one in Unreal’s product line that’s not vegan because of the milk chocolate. But all of their products are non-gmo, fair trade, sustainable ingredients with nothing artificial.
I’ve always had a soft spot for peanut m&m’s. In high school, I ate a bag every day or close to it. Running cross-country and track, it’s the lunch of champions, at least that’s what my teenage brain reasoned. Now, I’m in real danger of taking up that old habit again. There’s also Unreal dark chocolate crispy quinoa gems that I can’t quite bring myself to try, since I must have the peanut gems.
If peanut butter chocolate cups are more of your thing, you’re in luck with Unreal dark chocolate peanut butter cups. Totally comparable to its mainstream counterpart but vegan, gluten-free, and 5 grams of sugar per cup. Just slightly smaller at about one and five-eighths inches, they come individually wrapped, six in a bag.
Rather have a dark chocolate almond butter cup or a dark chocolate crispy quinoa peanut butter cup? Easter Bunny, hop to it. Unreal is available at Whole Foods and Amazon.

Oh man, these things are GOOD! The crispy peanut butter cups are my absolute favorites. I went a bit crazy around Halloween and stocked up on those things, planning to share… But then, never did. ;)

I’m going to have to try those next. The peanut gems are much easier to share, there’s more of them in a bag. I didn’t share any of the chocolate cups either. :-D

Oh I wish I had known about these BEFORE Easter morning!!!! I definitely would have bought them for all my peeps!!! Thanks for the info, though, I’ll try ’em out for some other chocolatey occasion, like, “Monday” or something! Haha! Probably don’t NEED a holiday to know about these! :)

Sorry, I did my best to get the post up as soon as I could. But you’re right, you don’t need a holiday to enjoy these. Just the fact that they exist is enough for me. :-)

I wonder if the easter bunny takes orders? Because I’d really like a faceful of those peanut butter gems. They do look (un)really good!

I told the Easter Bunny to take your order and put in extras… :-)

I baked the crispy quinoa ones gems into cupcakes and OMG they were so good!!! Love that these candies remind me of m&m’s … in a non-fake but tonally compassionate way :)

I never even thought of that, what an awesome idea! I can just imagine how good those cupcakes were. :-)

They all look good, but if I had to choose, I’d go for the peanut butter or almond butter cups. In fact , I may have to actually go get some to add a little variety to my chocolate snacks. And, now that you’ve finally written a post, I suppose I should do one, too. We have to keep each other motivated. :D
