I hate to mention this but Morros con Christianos all ways has some sort of non vegan ingredients.. It depends on how its cooked..Traditionally it has tiny pieces of bacon and ham..but most restaurants dont add that..
What they do is they fry it in a bit of bacon grease..Though its so little youd never know..(The rice is fried before its cooked) there is the cheat of adding a small amount of bacon grease after its cooked and stirring it in and letting it cook a little more..But while it tastes fantastic you would never know it had the bacon grease in it.
The rice can also be cooked with beef broth to give it a little more flavor but its always very little so it can be subtle.
With cuban cooking you have to researh what your eating..Even something as innocent looking as a sauce (bottled even) can have some type of animal product..
Its also unfortunate that most cubans will tel you its vegetarian cause they dont consider the beef broth or bacon grease to be an animal..
Course they could have also used Manteca (Lard) adding the small amount of bacon grease to it..

Nora - The nachos were good. I wish I had some now.

Hannah - I don't think they're related either. I've only heard of the ones in LA.

Vegan Korean - I really like The Veggie Grill, there's something for everyone. I only had a dime sized bite of the chocolate chip cookie and it was good.

jessy - I wish there was one near me too.

Andrea - I got lucky on the lighting. The place had a lot of big windows so it was nice and bright for picture taking.

The food looks so good - and the photos are great. I always find the lighting very challenging in restaurants. The salad looks the best to me, but maybe that's because I'm desperate for spring!

I went and got the nachos and the new cheeseburger and mac & cheez. I have to say, I didn't like the nachos as much as you did, but maybe it was because I was stuffed full of great mac & cheez and the cheeseburger.

I don't think this Veggie Grill has an outlet in NYC so that one must be unrelated.

The California Veggie Grill is my hands-down favorite restaurant right now. I love fast food, what can I say? Also, I can bring people there and even meat-eaters like the place! I love their oatmeal chocolate chip cookie as well.

How funny, I just ate at The Veggie Grill in NYC, but I don't think the two restaurants are related. Must be a common name, huh? Looks delicious anyways!
