J. - Thanks for your smoothie recipe! The chopped dates sound very interesting and sweet. I had no idea there were so many different kinds of green smoothies out there! :-)

I've just found your yummy blog and am reading back through all the posts. I wanted to share my current favourite green smoothie combo (I haven't been measuring so no real amounts):
I soak "some" chopped dates in warm water for ten minutes or so, then blend with half a head of romaine, two ripe, juicy pears, and a generous sprinkle of nutmeg. A little soymilk if needed. Tastes great, and the bright green is lovely :)

hi, I was stumbling this morning and came across your site. I LOVE green smoothies. the simplest one I make is 2 cups fresh pineapple, 2 handful of fresh baby spinach and 2 frozen bananas. Adjust thickness with pure alkaline water. Quite yum. also, in the summer, romaine leaves with watermelon. Just blend. No juicing for me anymore.

Lisa (Show Me Vegan) - Thanks! It's pretty easy to make smoothies at home and I don't even have a fancy blender. I just got an decades ol' one that somehow still does the job.

noobcook - Glad you like the color! It tastes good too! :-)

Love the cup! And the smoothie looks so healthy with the deep green color. I still haven't made any smoothies at home yet!

Jennifer - Definitely a lot cheaper, if I do buy it, I usually get the large jug of the Odwalla Superfood at Costco. Cheapest I've seen anywhere.

Cassie - Just make sure you have enough fruit to make it sweet and you'll be fine. Now that I made my first green smoothie, I want to try romaine and spinach too.
